NOPC seeks a highly creative and skilled individual to serve as our Government Relations Manager. Working in coordination with all NOPC team members and partners, the Government Relations Manager will promote policies in support of protecting our nation’s most treasured ocean places, developing,executing and elevating strategies to educate and influence key decision makers and decision processes within the Administration and in Congress.
The Government Relations Manager will also work to identify and engage new partners (organizations and individuals), develop education and advocacy materials, target lists, and talking points, and conduct other activities in support of NOPC’s organizational priorities. The Government Relations Manager must strategically work to move ocean protection goals forward. Additionally, the Government Relations Manager must demonstrate racial and cultural awareness and a commitment to justice, equity and inclusion, with experience working with Tribal Nations, Black, Indigenous and communities of color and groups of varying political affiliations.
This is a full-time, exempt position and reports directly to the NOPC Executive Director. This position is based in Washington, DC. Please note that due to COVID-19, RLF offices are closed, and we remain a fully remote organization until further notice. Ability to travel, as needed, when RLF business travel resumes.
